Had the miso soup, Goya and filet w/ Mahi Mahi. All were excellent. One of the best tasting Japanese steak houses I've had. Only giving 4 stars because the "show" by the chef was a bit tired and the fried ice cream was not good at all. Will make a point to go back next time were in Bullhead

I went to this restaurant and tried the lunch special with a California roll and 4 piece nigiri. Well where to begin. I'm a sushi chef myself and the roll was very cold like it was made ahead of time and was in the fridge until the order came in. The nigiri was good however but that does not make everything all right. The miso soup was very bland and tasteless. It did have a hint of clam flavoring but I didn't see any clams in the miso soup

I was hoping to have a great experience at Samurai, as a few other yelpers have raved about. Unfortunately, the server could care less about our table. Our plates were never cleared and we had to ask for everything, including drinks and the check. It was just a weird environment where our server seemed to boss everyone else around. The gyoza and bento box were both great. Sushi was also good, but not good enough to go back for nonexistent service. I would recommend Minato in Laughlin over Samurai.

This was my first time to Samurai visiting from Los Angeles.Walked in for dinner without reservations to celebrate 2 birthdays with a group of 4. Our wait was 20 min which is atleast expected on a Saturday night w/o reservations. When we were seated the table booth right next to us were having their food brought to them. I could overhear the server apoligizing for the wait on their food. I then heard the folks behind me having their food brought to them, and also heard the samething. Sorry it took so long we are behind. The waiter was fine & professional and obviously stressed, and asked us for our order. Our Miso soup came out quickly, and two of our 4 orders came out in 30 minutes....Awkwardly the two eat their dinner after we insisted them to eat and not wait for our order. The two dates had finished their order when they brough us some edamame and aploligized for being behind on our orders. It was already an hour since we ordered our food and still did not receive it. Our company had already finished their meal 15 minutes (intial order 1hr 15min prior) when we decided we were done and we were leaving without our meal. Paid for what our girls ate and left hungry and very disappointed! I understand this is not Los Angeles, but if this place was in L.A., it would be out of business in no time! Plenty of Japanese Steak Houses here! I knew it was not a good sign when the waiters were apologizing to their customers for the late arrival of their food they ordered. I would of had a lot more respect for them had they told me that they were behind in their orders. I could have ordered sushi from the sushi bar like our two ladies did and had a wonderful birthday together. Instead we enjoyed our birthday at Panda Express down the street. The service was great there! Samurai looked like a fun place to celebrate a birthday if the service was right! Everyone has a bad day, and I may give it one more shot. They got a 1 star because they could have been up front in the beginning and told us that they were behind and guide us on what to order instead of just take our order....Which tells me that the money is more important that customer service. P.S. we only ordered Chicken & Beef Teriyaki, by no means anything complicated to make. Good Luck Samurai!

Wow! We came here for my parent's anniversary after checking out the yelp reviews - totally worth it! We had a group of 6, and they recommended that we reserve a table (on a Thurs night), so we did. Seated right away. The chef we had was AWESOME (the other guy looked boring) - he was funny, quick, and made "special orders" for some of the folks seated at the table with us! The price is very reasonable for what we are used to. The chicken teppan meal was about $14. And tons and tons of food. Plenty for leftovers, had we been able to store them in our hotel room! Service was good, and they sang a song to embarrass my parents - what more could you ask for?

Food is great but the Sushi is less than desirable. But it is the best you can find in the area.

I would give 3 1/2 stars I'm torn and just can't do 4. We came in late on a holiday weekend and they said we could have a 930 reservation, I assumed they were staying open late due to holiday weekend. At one point it was mentioned that they stayed open and we should be appreciative! We were, the atmosphere is lively, the other patrons were really having fun. Staff seemed energetic, until we were sat. It just became clear that we were late diners and they were done with serving! Our large party ordered different things, sushi, steak, chicken , ect. My steak and chicken were delicious! The portions were much more generous than most teppan style restaurants. My husband enjoyed his sushi too, as well as my dad, both of who are sushi addicts! The service was the only thing that was confusing to me. It started off great but then we were forgotten. I never recieved my rice and had to ask for it. I wanted a glass of wine with dinner and finally went to the bar and got it myself. There were parties that were being served after us, and so we were not keeping the staff. Maybe someone in our party offended someone? I'm not sure, but If I wanted to ask for things and get my own drinks I would eat at home. I will come back for sure for the food and hope that we have better luck service wise. I definitely recommend this place for groups, kids, celebrations, and fun on the river.

Good food and fun atmosphere...I almost always get the salmon but also have enjoyed the shrimp and steak. Not a big chicken fan but others say that is good as well. Haven't had a bad meal here yet...

Celebrated my boyfriends birthhday here. The tepanyaki is wonderful especially the salmon. Make sure to get the fried rice instead of steamed, you won't be disappointed.

We tried this place last night because to be honest, there weren't many choices in Laughlin. We did not have to wait very long at all. The rice was pretty good . The chicken was good and the fillet was very good Their Sushi is very fresh also. I highly recommend this spot if you are in Laughlin.

I have been to many Teppenaki Restaurants in California and I have to admit that this place was very good and I will defiantly go back when visiting Laughlin. They gave a lot of food and the steak I had was perfect. The place is very clean and the service was also very good. I highly recommend this place. The sushi was fresh and good. I went here back in April but never got around to posting anything until now.

This is a good place to eat. My husband and I split a dinner and it works out great - and there is still food to take home. Go early and take advantage of the lunch pricing - save big before 4:30PM!

OK. Went there tonight and really loved the food. Teppan was tasty and fun, sushi was great and the service was ok at best. The busser (aside from the teppan chef) gave the best customer service. Also mentioned my friend's birthday and they did nothing...at all. I guess I just got really excited based on the reviews. I think it was more low key because it was a Wednesday.

Great experience & great food!!! Raphael took care of us & our chef was on point. I'm so upset at myself because I can't remember our cooks name :( we'll be back for sure! And we also bought my parents a gift card so they could enjoy it.

Came here for lunch for the first time and was not disappointed. Fast service and the food was fresh and hot! The sukiyaki steak has a great flavor and the Cali rolls are fresh!

This place was so great for our party of 9. We sat at a normal table and had lots of sushi and the kids got soup and California rolls. Great service and very generous sized rolls. The onion soup was fantastic and the White Tiger Roll was our favorite.

I guess we are spoiled when it comes to Japanese restaurants. The sushi was awesome, the service was ok. They seemed understaffed. My husband ordered steak and fried rice and got noodles. They fixed it. The teppenyaki cook was a lot of fun.

Awesome Japanese food! A must visit if you're across the river gambling in Laughlin. The chefs are way better than California's Benihana. More personable and entertaining! Sean, our East coast chef transplant, was great! Hell of a personality, friendly, funny, all around a great person. All of our food was excellent in every way. Service was prompt. The restaurant atmosphere was cozy and dark. Food portions were huge even though my wife and I shared our meal, for an $8 extra charge. Not bad at all. Coming back for sure next time we're out here in Laughlin!

On vacation with the family and used Yelp to find a good place to eat. Very impressed our new go to place when visiting Laughlin. Great service and the food was excellent! Our Chef was Shawn went out of his way to make it a memorable experience!

Amazing food at a great price (lunch menu). A very good deal at $8.95 to $12.95. The "show" is good, the waiters kept our glasses full, the food was filling and delicious! Highly recommend. The best cooks are Sean and David but I cannot recommend Shogun. He spent the entire cooking time taking about his woes and hardly ever smiled. Very aggressive and grouchy! However, David laughed and smiled the entire time and did our food the way we asked. Very nice guy. Sean was the same way.

Very impressed by this place. It seemed to be a hole in the wall restaurant, but wow I'm glad we are here. When you walk in there are kimonos and a photo shoot set up that they let us have fun with. We were seated at the grill, and served our appetizers very quickly. The chef was talented and entertaining. Sushi was some of the best I've ever had. This place is a must go when in Bullhead City.

  • Chris M.

The food was excellent. The grill chef's put on a great show. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get, especially compared to other similar restaurants. First off, I did not give 5-stars because of the wait. We were quoted 20 minutes to get a grill table but it was closer to 40. Once we were at the table they waited for more people to come and fill it before taking our orders and starting cooking. I understand why they do it, but man was I hungry! The waiting was somewhat offset by watching the other chef's, building anticipation for our meal. It should be noted that we did not have a reservation though. Secondly, DEFINITELY spring the $2 extra to get the fried rice. Quite possibly the tastiest element of our meal. Noodle, steak and chicken were also very good. Be sure to tell the chef extra rare for the steak if you like it tender. One other note, the atmosphere is very loud, but in a good way. The chef's engage the people on their table and there is lots of laughing and cheering. If it is someone's birthday there is LOTS of singing and even a gong. A very friendly, good vibe all around.

I really like this place!! We went kind of late in the evening and the wait was about 20 min for the grill seating. The shrimp was awesome, as well as the steak, chicken, and fried rice. I'm impressed with the service also.... my drink always got refilled. I always go on and on about benihana. To me it is the best but Samurai is definitely right there. I tell you.... the show was awesome! It smoked benihana's show. This dude used fire!!!! It seemed like all the chefs were cool. I will definitely be going back. Oh, the inside of this restaurant is very nice. How can you miss cafe 95 with a joint like this????

My brother wanted Japanese for his birthday and so we went. The food is a little pricey and I suggest the boxes over the entrees. I found the fried rice and noodles a bit bland. the cooks are great if you can get a grill. The birthday song on the other hand was a bit much and the music just kept going. This is a good special dinner place.

  • Amy K.

If this were not in Bullhead City...I'd say it's terrible. But because it's there...I'm a bit more forgiving. The NOISE level is enough to make you want to scream...they keep doing the longest, loudest strangest songs for birthdays! Then, the food is just a bit 'off.' And it's not cheap or anything....bento boxes as expensive as any I've seen and sushi priced with the GOOD places in Los Angeles. Go if you really want Japanese. But otherwise.....just stick to Chilli's or go up to Laughlin to Saltgrass..

this was a great place to have something different then a buffet from the strip and it let us get away from all the people and bells for a little while. Food was great! seemed very authentic, nice decor, nice staff. Great presentation on their food and it was all delicious. seemed reasonably priced. well be back :)

Not sure why so many people are giving this such great reviews. I consider it "pretty good" and frequently have lunch here. I wouldn't pay the dinner prices! The grill is fun to sit at and the chef puts on a good show. The atmosphere is lively and very unique for the area. But typical to this city is the frustrating service and okay food. I usually sit at a booth, but regardless if I'm by myself or with a friend, the service is lacking. I almost always have to get up and find someone so I can pay my bill, and they almost always give me the "Oh my goodness, I'm so forgetful" routine. The wait for a sushi roll is pretty long, accompanied by explanations that the sushi bar is very busy. (Well yeah, you're a SUSHI BAR. How can you not be expecting people to be ordering sushi??) The food itself is pretty good, but never have I had 5 star food here! The gyoza and tempura veggies are almost always too greasy to eat, so I almost always return them. The chicken is tasty, but nothing special. Just teriyaki sauce and sesame seeds on diced chicken with a side of rice. The teppanyaki veggies can be good, if they aren't cooked w too much oil. The rolls are average, as long as the tempura isn't burnt and you don't mind the california roll being refrigerated. And yes, I've had all these experiences here. Typical for a bullhead restaurant though, so I'll be back. In all, the restaurant is fine. Unique to the area with its dining atmosphere, but in a bigger city, I think it would be a 2 star restaurant.

GREAT service, GREAT food. GREAT atmosphere ! Will be here again for sure! Our main server Alfredo was awesome. Explained everything to us. Visited with a party of 8 on June 16. The service was good, food was good & the portions were large. At the end of show chef tosses shrimp to customers to catch in their mouths, I don't like this. The shrimp is tossed just as I toss snacks to my German Shepherd. I suppose you can tell them beforehand not to do it.

Food was delicious. Portions are generous. Sushi for being so far from the ocean was awesome. Would have given 5 stars if our server wasn't terrible. He came to take our drink order and left before everyone had ordered. Didn't check on us until he was ready to bring us our check and we also never received one of our sushi rolls. The food runners were at our table more then he was. Seemed like he didn't have the time for us. I will return for the food but will be sure to not get him as our server again.

I don't know why people write about this place being the best in Bullhead. The area by the kitchen and bathroom smells like sewer backup. My appetite flew out the door. The server was slow with my sushi order which was expensive for what I had. My son got sick from the habachi. There are better sushi restaurants in the area. We won't be returning.

The only descent asian/Japanese restaurant in town. Been going there regularly for last 3 yrs. Its a great place for family event, ie. birthdays.... Steaks are juicy and tasty, loving there fried rice let alone the "tiger roll". It needs little bit of improvement on "friendly" service but overall, I recommend this place.

YUMMY place! They have delicious egg rolls and sushi. Not even that expensive, I bought all that w/out a drink for around $9-$10 for take out. They even call you when your order is ready to pick up. I went into eat one time, the staff was friendly. Bill was only $13 for white rice, sushi and a drink. I had a good place in Indiana that I use to eat at, this place tops it :-). Great place if you are looking for good sushi! I had shrimp tempura rolls!

Great cook, very entertaining, food was just okay, less sauce and more flavoring (spices). I liked the atmosphere we were here with family and it was very conducive for a nice family visit. I guess I would say it was what I was expecting for the area. Not quite as good as Benihana.

With out a doubt the best sushi spot in Bullhead. The atmosphere is incredible on the weekends and the food is delicious. It is an absolute amazing spot for both lunch and dinner. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area.

Samurai came through again with a very enjoyable teppenyaki dining experience, beginning with a large and quite spicy Rainbow Roll on Spicy Tuna, consisting of tuna, yellowtail, salmon, and shrimp. After a cool salad with Ginger Dressing, and a tasty Onion Soup, a medley of grilled onions, carrots, bean sprouts, mushrooms and noodles was a nice prelude to the arrival of chunks of tender medium-rare Filet Mignon and fine grilled shrimp. Vanilla and Mango Mochi with Chocolate Sauce and Whipped Cream was a refreshing end to a very fine meal. Besides excellent food, our grillmaster put on a fine show, and service was very good both before and behind the table. For consistency in delivering excellent fresh sushi and superior grilled food, ambiance, and service, this place is hard to beat! A good argument could be made that Samurai offers the best restaurant dining experience in Bullhead City.

Was in Laughlin and wanted to go out for a nice dinner. After checking out the different options on Yelp, it seemed that most of the high ratings were for traditional steakhouses, which I'm not crazy about, but I came across this teppanyaki restaurant on the other side of the river in Bullhead City. Great find! I got the NY steak & teriyaki chicken with fried rice. It was very good! I was excited that the entree also came with noodles, but the noodles were disappointing! It wasn't true lo mein or chow mein, but actual spaghetti noodles in soy sauce... not great. But everything else was awesome! I also got to hear their Japanese birthday song a couple of times which was kinda fun. Haha.

Very good show/atmosphere... Did have some people in our group that was very picky and they did a great job accommodating their taste. Bar service slightly slow but not horrible.. Mixed drinks a joke so ordered wine.. Good size glass for $5.50.. All in all had a great time and will go back for special occasions...

Haven't been here for a while, so we took a group for lunch today. Had 5 cucumber appetizers, which were not worth anywhere near the $4.95 each since they were pretty skimpy. Most of us had the Bento box with either Salmon or Chicken and overall the rest of the food and service was above average. Here's where the interesting part starts. Our lunch tab for 3 adults and 3 children (including an 18% forced gratuity) was over $130. My wife had a coupon from a promo book we purchased from Mohave High School and we gave the waiter a 20% off coupon. He came back and said it was not good for lunch because all the prices for lunch were "specials" and the coupon was not good with "specials". I asked if the lunch "special" prices were the same EVERY day and if the menu was the same EVERY day. He said yes. I finally talked to the owner who had to call her husband and at first she said there was nothing she could do. I kindly explained to her that there was no where on the coupon where it said it was not valid for lunch or only good during certain hours. I told her we came for lunch in good faith with the intention of using the coupon and I felt it should be honored. Then she proceeded to point out the VERY tiny print on the BACK of the coupon that said "CERTAIN RESTRICTIONS APPLY" and apparently felt that gave her the right to change the offer in any way she saw fit. After more talking, she agreed to give us 10% off and I told her that I didn't think that was right, but we would just pay the bill and leave. I told her we were business owners in town and that in a small town like this, it's best to treat every guest with the best customer care possible. As I was leaving, she said she would now give us 20% off after a full 15 minutes of wasted time. I told her not to worry about it, since it was unlikely we would be coming back anyway. We didn't appreciate the "bait and switch" and the lack of consideration by this relatively new owner. This is a small town with a lot of other places to eat. The place was NOT busy for lunch and you would think they would do everything possible to keep the local guests happy. This is a place where the owner does NOT make you feel welcome or that they care about you as a customer. We will NOT be returning soon.

Me and my boyfriend shared the sushi boat and it was delicious it has a great variety on it. We have come back and also tried the love boat which is more expensive but does have a better variety of sushi on it. I highly recommend the love boat it is good for two people who want to stuff themselves with deliciousness. Everytime I have come here I have never been disappointed. The staff was super friendly and constantly came by to check on us. The prices are reasonable for what you get.

We dined with another couple here just before we left for vacation together, and it was a wonderful, celebratory event. Wife and I love Teppanyakki, for the show of it, and, of course, the food as well. But, if the Chef is dull, so is the food, sometimes. Not the case here. Our Chef, was really pretty understated, that is until he started cluck like a chicken, and hooting like a locomotive. He was truly funny, and we all had a great time. We had various forms of rice, shrimp, chicken, lobster, and filet. As usually happens, we all ended up sharing everyones plate , and it was a fine feast. He did a remarkable job of cooking the lobster, then seasoning and served in small bites in the shell. Elegant. All of us felt the same at the dinner, this was one fine restaurant, and we hope to return many times. 5 stars for doing everything correctly.

Have tried the sushi here several times and have always been, not only disappointed, but also couldn't eat some of the fish due to the spoiled taste. We decided to stop eating there because of this. Well, it's been a few months, we decided to give it another try after our neighbors told us it was good. Well, it wasn't. Is was below par on the sushi. Goya was good. Tempura calimari is not tempura batter, more like onion ring batter. Sushi rolls did not taste fresh. Such a disappointment :( restaurant was also dirty, floors sticky along with a dirty bathroom and we were there at 4:30 on a Wednesday

I would give this less than 1 star if I could. Went for lunch. Waited in the lobby for 10 minutes before anyone greeted us. Waited another 10 minutes to be seated. They weren't busy at all, so I'm not sure what that was about. Sat in a booth, since we only went for sushi. Placed our order and waited for food. In the meantime we were brought miso and salad. My salad was watery and not appetizing. My son says the miso soup was good, but I didn't try it. Our first sushi roll (007 roll) was brought to the table and as I was picking up a piece to eat, I found a hair in the piece I was about to put in my mouth. I waited for awhile to see our waiter again and didn't. Another waiter stopped and asked what was wrong and I showed him the hair, he took care of getting a new one. No manager came up to apologize about the surprise hair in my 007 roll. Next they brought my son's sushi, which was a lunch special (california roll and spicy tuna roll), and another one of my rolls (Philly roll), none of which tasted all that great. Then we waited some more for the crab nigiri we ordered to arrive and that wasn't too good either, tiny amount of rice with a giant piece of crab stick on top. All in all we were greatly disappointed. I do not recommend this place at all. Our food was prepared incredibly slow, I understand sushi takes awhile to make, but I've never been anywhere that is this slow and brings it bit by bit to the table. Our meal dragged on way longer than I wanted. The fish itself tasted less then fresh. I've gotten better tasting sushi from supermarkets and fast food sushi before. Price wise, it wasn't too bad.

Loved it! It's the second time my husband and I visit this place and I think I loved it even more this time around. Service was slow during the second visit. But the restaurant was more packed during that evening. While I would have loved to try out their delicious rolls, I'm the type that can really put down food. And that can get a bit pricy at a Japanese steakhouse. Instead, I opted for the chicken teriyaki bento box (again). If you're like me and "needs" variety, a bento box is perfect. It comes with a simple iceberg lettuce salad that's taken up a whole new level with their Asian dressing. Yum! White rice, shrimp and veggie tempura that is to die for! Also, 4 pieces of a California roll. Plenty of food! I asked for grilled veggies in place of the white rice and I stated that I didn't mind if there was an additional charge. While they did accommodate, it was at the cost of also removing my veggie tempura, bummer! Hubby ordered the New York steak with chicken teriyaki and it came with fried rice and noodles. He was nice enough to share some rice with me. Best fried rice I've ever had! He also claimed to have really enjoyed his dinner. We dream about the veggie and shrimp tempura still.

Really good spot if you're into tepan houses, service was good, the chef was very funny. We had the teriyaki chicken, New York steak, shrimp, & scallops. All we're cooked perfectly and man do I love me some good juicy scallops, and these were some really juicy, flavorful scallops. My only complaint & reason behind the one less star is the undercooked noodles & vegetables, both were still pretty hard & chewy. Other than that though it was a really cool place since there isn't many option here in Laughlin. Try the Tsunami cocktail, doesn't disappoint, better than a typical hurricane.

The sushi was very tasty, the sashimi was fresh, and our teppan chef was fun and entertaining. I had the shrimp, filet, and scallops, which were all very delicious. The onion soup that comes before the meal was yummy as well.

We used to come here once a week and the last two times we have actually gotten up and left. Service is just horrible, we waited for 20 minutes for someone to get our order before we left (we didn't even get to order drinks yet) and the place was not busy. Last week we went for my birthday, I hoped that we would not have a repeat of the last time we were here, and this time we did get our drinks and a app. The plate was dirty in the corners and my drink had a think layer of something white in the cup. We complained and left. I wont be going here again.

Yummy! This was really good considering there is not much around in this location. Love the Benihana feel. As a matter of fact the show was better than Benihana's. A lot of fire and cool tricks. The chef was kind enough to put extra garlic butter on everything!!! It was soooo delicious

Hate to give such a low rating since the chef was a nice person. We went there since the reviews said that it was the best sushi in Bullhead...sad to say t wasn't even close. The sushi rolls were the size of hubcaps, they instantly fell apart when you grabbed it...too messy!! Not sure if that's an Arizona thing but I wouldn't go back again.

Amazing steakhouse coupled with amazing sushi. The staff and service is exceptional and the quality of the food is even better. Best food in this region hands down. Great for any event, do yourself a favor and go eat here asap.

The Samurai Steakhouse can hang with Benihana any day of the week, in my opinion. This is a classic Teppanyaki Steakhouse with grill seating and a sushi bar. A lot of the negative reviews that I have read are for wait times and price. Simple fact is with any teppanyaki style restaurants, they can't just create seating - you have to wait until its available! The price here is extremely competitive, nearly half the price of it's Las Vegas competitors. I have never experienced poor service here (have dined here no less than 10 times) and the food quality is always top notch! As with any Teppanyaki grill, they have their own signature flavor and I am definitely a fan of Samurai! Generally, I try to stay with only Filet Mignon in these types of places, but I have had lesser cuts here and been absolutely impressed. The shrimp is very flavorful, as is the chicken as well. The fried rice is to die for and I have actually considered a trip from Vegas for no other reason than to eat here. Great job to Samurai, a true gem that I would not expect to find in Bullhead City!

My brother and I came down to visit my mother in Bullhead City for 9 days and tonight was to be our last night. My mother told us a lot of good things about this restaurant so we thought we would treat her for dinner at her favorite place. The restaurant is very nice. There are booths to sit in and if you want you can sit Benihana style where they grill and cook the food right in front of you. My mother wanted to sit at the sushi bar. The sushi bar is "L" shaped and sits about 8 people. My brother and I shared a 6 piece spicy tuna roll - $6 and a 6 piece spicy salmon roll - $6. The tuna and the salmon were both fresh the rolls were nice and spicy. My mom opted not to eat the rolls. Too hot she said. Our main menu The 3 of us ordered the Samurai bento box dinner. My mother ordered the chicken teriyaki dinner box $12.95 and my brother and I both ordered the salmon teriyaki dinner box $14.95. All the dinner boxes came with 2 piece gyoza (Potstickers), mixed tempura (shrimp, yam and vegetables), 4 piece California roll, salad, meso soup & rice. Yes, that was a lot of food. Plus we all ordered green tea. The grilled salmon was outstanding. We got 3 fairly large tender pieces. The salmon just melted in my mouth and the teriyaki sauce on the fish just added to its tender goodness. The meso soup was very good and not too salty. The gyoza (potstickers) were very tasty and were filled with pork and veggies. The tempura was was perfect. The shrimps were long, lean, crispy and the yams were sweet. The tempura came with the usual tempura dipping sauce. The California roll was good. I don't think I've ever been to a japanese restaurant that has screwed up this roll before. With all this said I was very impressed. One dose not expect to find a great japanese restaurant in the middle of the desert especially out in Bullhead City, Arizona. Since I live in Pasadena, California I would have to say that if this place was located in Pasadena it would easily be able to compete with a lot of japanese restaurants in Pasadena.

This restaurant, if you are a fan of Sushi, is a must. The fish is fresh, the variety is surprising. I cant's say enough about Samurai's. I am a huge Sushi fan, and I put Samurai's fish up against some of the best places I've eaten. Add to the great fish, behind the bar is a personable, fun chef named "Sun". Sun defiantly knows his craft, he puts together some amazing plates. Order what you like, but also give Sun a chance to show you what he's got going on. I cant say enough about "Samurai" or their chef "Sun".

My sister and I visited this restaurant while she was in town this week. As a huge fan of sushi, I trusted in her to order tasty treats for us and she did! The salmon and tuna were very fresh, the crab rolls were so sweet, and my Geisha cocktail was delicious with its mixture of pineapple juice, orange juice, vodka and sake. Our server, Cindy, entertained us with songs and dance moves every time she visited our table. Although we arrived around 1pm, there was no room at the sushi bar, so we were seated at a booth. That was fine with us, but know that it may still be crowded after the typical lunch time hour.

  • Laura A.

If you go to Samurai, head there for lunch, NOT DINNER! Lunch special is WAY cheaper than the dinner special, and you'll eat within an hour. I've been to this restaurant multiple times, and have had many issues with customer service in the evening hours, both with the the teppan grill and with the sushi bar. The customer service is really, REALLY BAD. We arrived (with a reservation) at 5:45pm on a Monday night. We asked to be seated at a normal booth; as we were just going to be getting sushi. It took them 25 minutes to seat us. When we finally got to the table, around 6:10pm, a nice asian woman took our drink order. She didn't bring us our drinks, or come back to get our sushi order until 6:30pm. We ordered our sushi then, and did not get our first roll until 7pm-- and our last roll at 8:50pm!! (We had only ordered 5 rolls!!) The food is really good, but the customer service was horrible. If you're only getting sushi, skip this place and head back up 95 to Maki Sushi- WAY better sushi, and WAY better service.

Food: 3/5 stars Service: 3/5 stars Presentation: 3/5 stars Price: 2/5 star It's a blast if you've never been to a Teppan Steakhouse. If you've been to others, this one is nothing special. Food is good but not great. You do get a lot to eat so bring your appetite. It is pricey, so this is more of a special occasion experience than anything else. Service was fine. Our chef seemed knew and not very inspired. He only did a fraction of the tricks I have seen other chefs do. First time diners will enjoy the show, but experienced Teppan Diners won't be as impressed.

This establishment is new. They have DELICIOUS sushi! I went to the sushi bar on my 1st visit here, the sushi chef was very friendly. He helped us choose a few items. The second visit I chose to sit at the Teppan Grill. They put on a show with the food at the grill! The chef was really funny and kept the whole crowd entertained. Its like going out to dinner with free entertainment! The restaurant also has booth style tables if you do not want to sit at the grill or sushi bar. They do not have their liquor license yet but I was told they would receive it soon (maybe by end of Feb. or in March) and will be a full bar. This is highly recommended!!!

I absolutely loved the food at Samurai! It was my first time visiting this restaurant, but I was told by those with me that the food is better at a table (where we sat) than at the teppanyaki grills. Service was horrible, but the food made up for the lack of service. After the waitress visited our table for drink orders, she disappeared for a while. When she returned, she brought our drinks and then took our order. We did not see her again until she brought us our check. Other servers brought out our food and were very polite. Portions were great! I was not able to finish the whole dish, but I definitely wanted to! I recommend this place for anyone in the mood of great Japanese food, but do not expect speedy service.

Very good show/atmosphere... Did have some people in our group that was very picky and they did a great job accommodating their taste. Bar service slightly slow but not horrible.. Haha.

OUTSTANDING!! Great food and show...service a little slow but well worth it! Large portions and reasonable cost. Lunch for two 25 and some change...will definitely be returning.

I've been going for quite sometime now and haven't had a bad experience. The sushi is amazing, along with there bento boxes. The chefs at the grill are great and it's an overall good environment. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

GREAT PLACE!!!! Whether you sit at the sushi bar or teppan, food is excellent and service is excellent. A must try if you're in the area. Thanks Sunny and J.

We got the love boat and It was awesome. The service was excellent and they also gave us 20 % off our bill. We will definitely go back when we go to our river house.

We came here randomly for vacation and decided to check out this restaurant. So glad that we did! The sashimi plate was fresh and good. The service was excellent and prices are reasonable. If you are in the area I highly recommend!
